Dear Friends:
What a wonderful beginning this
has been. I have gotten to meet
so many of you and I am looking
forward to forging an ever deepening
relationship with each of
you.
One of the ways that I want to do that is to meet with each of you over the next couple of months. However, I need your help to do that. Please let me know when we can meet and where. I am open to visiting you in your home, at your place of work, at Starbucks, in my study at church, or anywhere you would feel most comfortable. Please call me or the church office to set up a time.
During our time together I would like you to tell me your story including when you came to First Presbyterian Church and why you have made it your church family. I would also like you to share with me your favorite place to go and your favorite thing to do in San Jose. What is your favorite Restaurant? Do you know a great hair salon, how about a place to get a wonderful pedicure?
There are a few things I want you to know about me. I am pretty good at keeping a confidence, and if I need to share something with another person about you, I will always ask your permission or let you know why I need to share something before I disclose any of our conversations. I will also never come to your home without a phone call asking if it is a convenient time. When my study door is open, come on it, you are never an interruption! I will always return your phone call as soon as I can.
I have been called to be the Shepherd of this congregation, I want you to know that you are my number one priority. I am available for emergencies 24/7, and I am always willing to pray with you, even over the phone.
Joyfully in Christ’s Service,
